April 14, 28, & May 5th

Instructor: Stacie Hogan $40 Anthology is a fun design-your-own hat and cowl pattern by Tin Can Knits. In this class, you will learn how to design your own custom motif or how to place a predesigned motif on your hat or cowl. TCK has written this pattern for worsted, dk, and fingering weight yarns so you can choose what you love working with. With so many yarn and color choices, we will be talking about yarn choice, basic color theory, personal color schemes, and analyzing how different color combinations can change the look of your motif. We will start by choosing yarn of 2 or more colors and swatching your design. As we progress we will go over color dominance, different ways to hold your yarn, tension, and how to keeps your floats neat. At the end of class 3, you will have a fully custom designed hat or cowl (both if your ambitious!). This class is a great intro if you plan to take the Strange Brew Sweater Class and your hat or cowl can be your swatch. Technique requirements: knit, purl, cast on/bind off, working in the round, chart reading, easy colorwork Yarn: If you would like to choose your yarn ahead of time that is okay. You will need 2 or more colors of the same yarn weight. Superwash wool is harder to work with for stranded knitting so I suggest sticking with non Superwash wool. A list of suggested yarns and supply list will be provided with registration. Call now to register! (618) 222-0772
