Many different yarn types will work with this pattern! Pick a color you like at aweight ranging from worsted to bulky weight. Thicker weights make for larger, chunkier pumpkins. Thinner weights can be chain-plied or otherwise held together in multiples to make an equivalent thicker weight, or can be knit held normally with smaller needles tomake a smaller-sized pumpkin.

Your exact yardage requirements will vary depending on your yarn and needle choice.

This pumpkin is knit in the round, so you’ll need double pointed needles (or anotherneedle type appropriate for your favorite small-diameter-tube needle method). Select aneedle diameter size that is a size or two smaller than you’d normally use to knit with youryarn choice - we want to knit a dense fabric.Samples shown knit with:Bulky weight: US 8 (5 mm) Worsted weight, held normally: US 6 (4 mm)Worsted weight, held chain plied: US 8 (5 mm)
